What is EXIF / photo metadata?
When you take a photo, your iPhone automatically embeds hidden data in the image file. This can include your exact GPS coordinates, the date and time, your device model, camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO), and more. This data is called EXIF metadata and is invisible to the eye but readable by anyone who receives the file.
Does the app upload my photos to the internet?
No. All scanning and metadata removal happens entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your iPhone or iPad. We have no servers that receive or store your images.
What does "Clear GPS Info" do?
When you purchase "Clear GPS Info", the App creates a new copy of your photo with the selected metadata (GPS location, device info, date/time, etc.) stripped out. The original photo in your library is never modified. The cleaned copy is saved as a new photo in your library.
I purchased "Clear GPS Info" but lost access after reinstalling. How do I restore it?
If you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, you can restore it by tapping the "Clear GPS Info" button — it will process at no additional charge. Apple's system recognizes your prior purchase automatically.
The app says it can't find my GPS location. Why?
Not all photos contain GPS data. Photos taken with some apps, screenshots, images downloaded from the web, or photos already cleaned may have no location data embedded. The App will show "No GPS data found" in these cases — this is expected and correct behavior.
Which image formats are supported?
The App supports JPEG, HEIC/HEIF, PNG, TIFF, and RAW formats from your iPhone photo library. Not all formats support all metadata fields; results may vary by format.
How do I request a refund?
Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple, as all purchases go through the App Store. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.
